What.

Learn HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) at KdF Fencing! Our unified approach teaches Liechtenauer's principles for any weapon—sword, dagger, polearm—making you a versatile fencer.

Why.

It's bringing history to life by learning the fighting techniques of knights and other historical figures. We study and practice these techniques using safe, specialized equipment, recreating swordplay, wrestling, and other martial skills from the past. It's a fun way to get exercise, learn a new skill, and connect with history!

Who.

  • 15th Century German Fencing Master

Liechtenauer authored the influential treatise Kunst des Fechtens (The Art of Fencing). His teachings, covering various weapons and unarmed combat, form the foundation of our school's curriculum, honoring his legacy of martial arts mastery.

  • Instructor

Nolan will be Instructing one handed weapons and various companion weapons.

  • Founder/Instructor

Pronounced "Wook" (rhymes with "book"—not "crook," so please get it right!), he'll be teaching two-handed weapons (“because one handed swords hurt my little arms!”). He's honed his teaching skills at Bold City Longsword, so you know you're in good (and tiny) hands.
